Disclaimer

The new Pharmaceutical Regulation provides pharmacists with the authority to order and receive the results of laboratory tests following the guidelines and restrictions set out in the Regulation and the appropriate practice directions. Pharmacists in Manitoba are not yet allowed to order lab tests for outpatients until the College, Manitoba Health and laboratory service providers establish the necessary infrastructure to enable such test ordering. As well, please note that completion of the "Ordering Lab Tests for Manitoba Pharmacists" does not automatically grant pharmacists the authority to order lab tests for outpatients in Manitoba. Once lab test ordering for outpatients is allowed and the Manitoba Module is available, all pharmacists who would like to order lab tests for outpatients must complete the "Manitoba Module: Ordering Lab Tests". Following successful completion of the Manitoba Module, a pharmacist must sign in to their profile on the College website and declare they have completed the required training. Further information will be posted on the College of Pharmacists of Manitoba website once available.
